Franco Lautieri says:

Very cool new features on iOS 11, and thanks for a very useful video explaining them all. As you guys at 9to5Mac are the gurus, could I ask you if you might know if there’s a way (or going to be a way in iOS 11) of copying and pasting Photos app edit parameters from one photo to a different photo? This is something that I would use a lot, and am sorely missing. Thanks.

MT Rider says:

Is that a 4g data toggle I see there, if so just needs location data toggle too and I can ditch jailbreaks.

John Davolta says:

ohh shit iOS 11 can do split screen…..pffff….my old Galaxy S4 had that feature and worked beautifully.

Andrea B. says:

“Just like that”

Nick Donnelly says:

Dude delete some apps yo! How many screens?

Seth Hanson says:

Thanks, this video helped me a lot. I was following along on my iPad Mini with you and I don’t think the mini has as many functions as the larger models. For instance, to close open apps I can’t place my finger on the app then tap the X. I have to swipe up. Split screen is not an option either but I can drag an open app on top of another.

Son Goku says:

Screen recording too

ZESTY says:

Bertram Inc. says:

I used the new iOS for a few moments:  Move & Scale code still broken (since iOS 7.0 was released in June of 2013).  You are not able to set a WIDE ASPECT RATIO photo to your lock screen (full width of photo in the width of the screens display) using the Move & Scale code unless you modify the photo in some other way (this Move & Scale worked correctly in iOS versions 6.0 and prior, which I can prove using any of my old iOS devices here in the house).  Also, the new number code screen to unlock the device is cloudy grey with fat number fonts (similar to the awful App icons on AppleTV for TV Shows and Movies, which have text with terrible fonts, while the Apps for Music and The App Store and nice simple icons, like we used to see)  VISUAL VOMIT!  Also, now on the new iOS, to save a photo you are looking at in the web browser, you have to press and hold the photo, then pull the photo down before “save image” and “copy” window pops up….  Before this iOS you simply long pressed the photo and those options popped up… Why the extra step?  It appears Apple has lost touch with what simple effective programming is and they are changing processes just for the sake of change (this is similar to the extra step in the OS dock where if you want to keep a program in the dock after it closes you must now right click the program icon in the dock and select “options”, which opens a new pop up window before you can select, “keep in dock”).  These are symptoms of declining ideas and a loss of perspective on what is aesthetically pleasing.  This might seem trivial to many (we call these people who refuse to criticize ANYTHING Apple does, “fan boys”) but each and every step added to systems makes the entire system more and more complicated and cumbersome. Extra steps are the scourge of ANY competent computer programmer… more complicated is worse than simple… Apple was founded on simple, functional design..  This trend is NOT Apple.  This is trash.  Once again, Apple’s new software is worse than the previous both in code and appearance.  AGAIN, I won’t upgrade until software improves (extra steps don’t keep showing up.. processes get more simple not more complicated…  graphics actually look good again!…..  until this trend of adding more steps to each process stops and we can turn around and go the right direction again.  I’ll say this again… Tim Cook needs to go.  It’s time for a leader there who is involved in improving processes, not complicating them.  Finally, I am an Apple fan.  The foundation of Apple hardware and software is strong.  That’s why it can outlive the Tim Cooks in our society.  Hopefully we get new leadership who will spend time simplifying processes and steps, including going back to icons rather than words…. going back to graphics depth and rich color rather than pastel flat icons (App dock Icons from OS Lion to El Capitan… deep true graphics icons to flat plain icons.. and they keep getting worse and worse) .

iPhone 8 or X is still a NO GO for me due to inferior ergonomy (no propper customizable widgets on the homescreen for example), I´ll definitely stick with Android phone. But in the tablet world iOS11 looks pretty damn handy.
