6 Essential RV Travel Apps

#rvtripplanner #rvapps #campingapps We love RV travel. Part of our formula to make RV travel easier is trip planning along with the travel tools to reach our destination. We have 6 essential RV travel apps we use on a regular basis to find campgrounds, map our travel, locate rest areas along the way and to purchase fuel. There are a number of other apps used from time to time, but these 6 essential RV travel apps are always part of our travel both in planning as well as those days we’re on the road.

In this video we show how we use our favorite apps – RV Parky, TripAdvisor, Google Maps, Rest Stops, Allstay Big Truck Stops and last but not least, Gas Buddy. We take you through our process using these apps, explaining how each are beneficial for RV travel. While not an online app, we also show the importance of using a Rand McNally Deluxe Motor Carriers’ Road Atlas to ensure your travel route is suitable for your big rig RV.

I want to plan a trip with overnight stays at state parks. I know I need to be there by 1pm to get a spot. How do I figure this out with google when I can only travel at 55-60 mph and google maps assumes faster speeds?

Orange lines are truck friendly, but NOT all trucks, there maybe LOW underpasses on them. To be sure YOU will be safe, PLEASE check the front of the atlas under the heading Low Clearances. All states are in alphabetical order. Also in the front are phone numbers for State Patrols.

Barry Cook says:

Waze is an amazing app and saved our bacon many a time. It will update hazards, routes, etc based on user input. We’ve been redirected via detour in real time due to accident on the interstate.
