— Adobe Rush Review! (Best Mobile Video Editor?) —

Adobe Premiere Rush is the newly released, and much-hyped, cross-platform video editing app from Adobe! Originally codenamed ‘Project Rush’, it promises a seamless experience editing your videos across multiple devices – including windows PC, Mac and iPhone/iPad/iOS at launch (expanding to Android soon after!)

But how does Adobe Rush really stack up against some stiff competition, especially with solid options on Mac & PC (Final Cut Pro, Adobe Premiere Elements, Premiere Pro…), and killer apps on iOS & Android (KineMaster, LumaFusion, PowerDirector…)

In this Adobe Rush review we run through my thoughts after putting the new Premiere Rush video editor through its paces to see how it compares to existing competitors, just how well the cross-platform features work, and whether it really is the best video editing app for iPhone or Android!

Check out all the gear we use and recommend at Primal Video!

Hello! I was wondering if anyone else was having a problem with the new Rush editor? 2 of my first 3 projects were corrupted. After much editing time all of my video files turned red with exclamation marks. The same thing happened to a friend of mine too. Is this a common thing or random? Thanks!

Costa Rica Investment Properties says:

Gday mate! Sooo needed this, thanks

Doug Eaton says:

Fantastic content yet again Justin! What do you suggest for basic video editing with a Chromebooks. I’m working with students who have school-supplied Chromebooks and unlimited Google Drive storage. But, we’re struggling to find a decent video editing option. Do you have a suggestion?

Greater Nixa Homes says:

How is the quality of video when exporting to YouTube or Facebook from the app?

Joshua Mallett says:

I can’t get it to render my files, is it possible to render?

Django Groen says:

How can it be cross platform? We need the video files on the device right?

Gomm Stained Glass says:

As a PowerDirector user, I like to stay current as to what options are out there and the Rush product looks very great. I enjoyed your editing of this video (screens that demonstrate the sizes) weren’t necessary, but fun nonetheless.

Matthew Vandeputte says:

Wish they pushed it out to Android at the same time as iOS!!

Geeks Life says:

I love the idea of this editor, but the way I edit, I just can’t use it. I’m still using Luma Fusion. It’s a great app, but I’d love to be able to edit with Chris or Phillip on some projects. But those damn thick borders on the selected media make my style of editing impossible. I edit audio visually. Hopefully they keep updating it.

Gary Davies says:

Just a great review of Rush Justin, fantastic introduction. I can’t wait to use it. Thanks buddy.

Tom Terrific says:

iMovies allows you to unlink the audio track from the video track, which is a basic professional editing feature. Once Adobe Rush adds this to Rush (available on Premiere Pro), I will then delete Power Director from my Galaxy S9 and iMovies from my iPad.

Alwood Wick says:

Great review amigo. Thank you for sharing 🙂

CJ Filmer says:

Thanks! It gave me a lot of help

Justin – Every time I start one of your videos I have the same thought: he’s giving us more content in a more efficient, comprehensible, and pleasant manner than nearly all the other channels I subscribe to. Very grateful. Rush does sound huge, especially for beginners like me who might have an Adobe CC subscription.
