Have you tried Lightworks and what do you think about it? I learned to work in Adobe Premiere during uni but didn’t believe it was worth the monthly subscription. So I am currently using Lightworks though still got a lot of tricks to learn to be comfortable in it

Thanks for the helpful tips! I have noticed you have great sound quality in your videos, I am just starting out (using a lav mic and T4i) and continually getting a background hiss in the audio. Do you have any recommendations regarding camera settings or is this something that is edited after recording, thanks. -Luke

My Fluffy Life says:

For the 17-18 school year, I will be participating in a history competition called History Day and I will need a good video editing software for a documentary. Any advice for me or a suggestion for a good software will really help.

Mikej1592 says:

Cool video, I was actually looking at Adobe as a choice, it looks very powerful. Much more power than I need for now but it looks like it would be the most flexible. I would prefer a one time fee though. I don’t plan on doing much, I haven’t posted much to my channel in years, maybe it would encourage me to make more videos. I wish I did videos on all the repairs/remodels I had to do on our new house. Here’s a tip for home buyers, no matter how handy you think you are buying a fixer-upper is only viable when burning it to the ground and pissing on the cinders to build a whole new house in it’s place is NOT a choice you have had to talk yourself out of. Seriously this house was only build in 1987 and it needs everything replaced except the siding and the roof. But everything from insulation to the vapor barrier in the crawl space need replacing. While we live in it. But who would want to watch a 44 year old man remodel a house?

i stll use premiere cs3 and i fukin hattte it. i need to upgrade. im tired of the prepro hype. i want to switch programs but not sure which is good. i also want to switch from Windows to Linux.

good video, i like you use Adobe Premiere and have been using it since 1999 Premiere 4.5. wow that feels like a long time. in the last few years i have been editing more and more. at the moment i use Premier CS6. everyone tells me to upgrade to CC, but i am still iffy on paying those months cost. prefer to pay one lump sum and move on. anyways i lack on my effects, do you recommend any videos to watch on how to use Adobe After Effects better? at the moment i use Premiere for all my initial editing but use Final Cut Pro X for my special effects as i have close to $1000 plug-ins

I enjoyed using light works, but once I got a DSLR my computer wasn’t powerful enough to use it. I’m using videopad currently. Lightworks has a lot of amazing tools available for free. Supposedly even more if you buy it.
